PSA: Vacation Ahead

On Saturday, my family and I will depart for a two week trip to Scotland, England and France.  The last time I was on the continent was during the OJ Trial — in fact, I was in Italy when I heard the verdict.  Despite the rumored increase in connectivity since 1995, you should go ahead and just expect that I am unavailable for the rest of this month.  I have asked a few people — specifically Jeff Katz, Nick Vossbrink and Jason Schwartz — to continue to post as they would have, and also to help the anyone else who wishes to post in my absence.  They have, as far as I can tell, complete permissions/powers to do so.  So: contact one of them if you wish to post something.

The @sabrbbcards Twitter account will be fairly quiet, so if a new post does come up, please retweet it so that the word can be spread far and wide.  When I log on, I will try to do so.

In the mean time, I wish everyone a great rest of March.  There will be many regular season games before my return.

  1. We’re all jealous! Make the most of the trip, and we’ll do our best not to succumb to the zeitgeist and convert the blog to a Kardashian/Bieber channel. And in all seriousness, any authors looking for assistance can reach me on Twitter at @HeavyJ28. Happy to help you get your stuff posted, Kardashian-related or otherwise.

  2. There are several English football memorabilia shops in the London area. Topps recycled design templates from American football and baseball with some of their 60s and 70s sets. I am looking for a ’70s era Harry Redknapp. You could duck out of the British Museum, Windsor or Westminster Abbey and peruse the shops. 🙂 When in Piccadilly Circus, go into Lillywhites. It’s a great world soccer shop. Have a wonderful time. What a great family trip.

  3. I imagine I am the only Scottish-born member of this group, so I would encourage Mark not to miss Edinburgh Castle. Now, of course, I have to see if I have a Bobby Thomson card in my collection, and to get one if i don’t. Hoot, mon!

  4. Aside from the impressive view of Princes Street from the castle, the view from the top of Arthur’s Seat (an easy hike) in the Meadows is also very nice. And of course Holyrood Palace, the Scott Monument, the Firth of Forth, on and on
